I just posted a short story about Calvin Pickard (T-Birds) and Kent Simpson (Silvertips) being invited to the NHL Scouting Combine next month in Toronto, ahead of the draft in June. Pretty impressive credentials by both goalies. Talk is heating up that Calvin will go high in the first round.

I hope Kent goes pretty high, as well. Goodness knows there are some NHL teams that SORELY need help between the pipes! Anyway, if you want to read more about Calvin & Kent, click here.

                                                      Chisun (Jim) Paek, NHL Legend

The terrific guys over at THE HOCKEY GUYS invited me to contribute to their "Stuff of Legends" series. I chose to write about JIM PAEK, the first Korean-born player in the NHL. The story is dear to my heart for two reasons: 1. My favorite team (Penguins) drafted Paek in 1985, then called him up in 1991 for a date with destiny. 2. I'm half-Korean and very proud of anyone from my culture who succeeds. They are great role models, especially those succeeding in a career that's not traditionally bursting with Asian talent. If you want to read my story about Mr. Chisun (Jim) Paek, just click here.  Special thanks to ANTHONY CURATOLO for inviting me to take part.
